Netherlands to Spain
Prepare a Dutch car purchase for Spain: RDW export documents, collection, transport and Spanish registration planning.

Prepare the Dutch file
Confirm the required documents with your Spanish registration adviser before deregistering. RDW warns against exporting before checking this. Also request an invoice or purchase contract with the VIN.
Coordinate RDW export
Export can be arranged at RDW or an authorised company. Registration abroad needs the export certificate together with the corresponding registration document. Agree whose name the export uses and who holds the originals.
Separate export plates from permission for the whole journey
RDW describes conditions for driving in the Netherlands after export. If driving to Spain, also confirm insurance and validity in every transit country. Alternatively, arrange truck collection.
Agree the delivery plan
Provide addresses, flexible dates, dimensions and ground clearance. Request condition photos at collection and delivery and keep the transport receipt. Confirm who receives the car and originals in Spain.
Prepare Spanish registration
Review technical documentation and the tax treatment of your purchase in advance. Plan the ITV, tax evidence and DGT application before using the car on Spanish registration. Follow the document checklist for your case.
